Ruelas Co. makes leather goods and teaches leathercraft in Carlsbad, California.

We use full-grain vegetable-tanned leather, solid brass hardware, and traditional hand-finishing techniques.

Our work draws from Mexican and American West saddlemaking, and designed to be used daily and last decades.

We also run hands-on leather studios where people learn traditional leathercraft and make their own pieces.

I'm Alejandro Ruelas. My family is from Jalisco, Mexico. We’re farmers, ranchers, charros. Growing up, I was surrounded by objects that mattered: tooled belts, well-worn saddles, sombreros passed down through generations.

Ruelas Co. is my way of honoring that lineage while building something of my own.
